Article by John D. Edwards

The skin is the largest organ in the human body. Performs the following functions – protection, sensation, heat regulation, absorption and water resistance. Because the skin covering most parts of the body and protects against pathogens, is subject to a number of health problems. One of them is skin spots, which are harmless, but annoying for those who have them.

Skin blemishes such as freckles, age spots and signs of skin problems of pregnancy that can affect people of all ages. Freckles, which are small brown spots appear early in life, while signs of pregnancy, or melasma appears during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. Age spots, meanwhile, are like freckles and later in life. You can also occur in any skin type. These brown spots are formed in areas of skin exposed to sunlight. Examples are the face, hands, chest and back. Freckles, age spots and signs of pregnancy are caused by an accumulation of skin pigment called melanin, which is produced by the body due to sun exposure. How can I prevent spots? For those who are constantly exposed to the sun, the best thing to do is put the sunscreen. This will reduce exposure to the sun, preventing the body to produce more melanin.

Natural remedies are also available to prevent stains. Faced with a wash with sour milk, for example, offers a gentle exfoliation, while the use of lemon juice is a proven remedy against freckles. Masks of fruits and vegetables are also recommended and parsley mixed with lemon juice, orange juice and redcurrant helps keep the freckles invisible. Perhaps one of the most important measures to prevent staining of a higher intake of vitamin C, because it makes the skin less sensitive to the sun. Foods rich in vitamin C are citrus fruits, green onions, currants and rose hip tea.

People with skin defects should take note of the fact that some types of stains are due to underlying medical problems, such as lupus and liver disease. Otherwise, you must accept the fact that the spots are part of life. However, there is nothing wrong with wanting to keep skin clean and smooth as silk. Prevention is always better than cure, and stay away from the sun is the best preventive measure you can do to prevent stains of any kind.
